The temperature is warming, the rain is subsiding, and the flowers are in bloom. Taking a leisurely walk (leisurely is as fast as I can move right now) after my recent –and unanticipated– surgery, I’ve no choice but to “stop and smell the roses.” In this moment, to my surprise, even commonplace sidewalk blooms greet me with the warm, exuberant colors of a floral rainbow.
The yellows range from pale to pastel, ombré to bold, a speck of yellow to all-out color. There are even flowers that, with some imagination, could be the tails of exotic animals.
Lavender, violet, magenta, and periwinkle: pinks and purples say hello in scintillating shades. Is it just me, or do I see blue from a certain angle where there’s usually purple?
More buds have yet to blossom, and spring is undeniably in the air (as attested by all those, like myself, experiencing allergy symptoms). As the saying goes, April showers really do bring May flowers.
Happy Monday! Wishing you a week filled with sunshine, blue skies, and color.
